HO Scale Trees are perhaps the most popular size in the industry. HO modeling is still a major part of the model train hobby.

The size of a tree on an HO scale layout can vary a lot depending on what you are trying to show. Large trees for a city scene next to a building may be as high as 10 or 12 inches. Smaller decorative trees or fruit tree examples for a main area or foreground on the other hand may be only 2 or 3 inches tall. The example below is about 6-7 inches tall and is shown next to a typical plastic model tree.

As you can see in the image above a “lager” HO scale tree can look very realistic and can provide a great look t your layout. These would be great options for a park scene with large trees around picnic tables or play areas. One of the great things about the sagebrush as an option for tree armatures is the potential for a very unique and natural look to each of your model trees. Of course if you want uniformity that can also be achieved easily by removing some branches and clipping here and there until your trees have a similar look to each other. Even with this uniform approach you still end up with very natural looking trees on your layout.
